On November 6, AVR’s Team AVengers was up early to walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. The annual walk at Tempe Beach Park was estimated to have over 10,000 participants. More than $250 dollars was raised for the American Cancer Society by the 10-person AVR team. “The energy was positive and upbeat during the event,” said AVR’s Andrea Kusick. “I had such a great time, and enjoyed seeing how many people were out enjoying the beautiful Saturday morning. I will definitely be participating in the event next year!” Susan Smith of AVR said, “Seeing survivors walking and those walking in memory of a loved one puts it in perspective. We were proud to walk with those so passionate in supporting efforts that will help our future generations”.AVR is active in the Phoenix community and the Team AVengers looks forward to participating in walk again next year.

PHOENIX – AVR’s Manager of Applications and Controls, Ira Beyer, earned the Crestron DigitalMedia™ Certified Engineer (DMC-E) certification by successfully completing training and a comprehensive certification exam.
Through attaining this certification, Beyer has proven an understanding of the fundamentals between analog and digital systems and the unique design considerations needed to ensure the reliable operation of such systems. Crestron DigitalMedia™ has been recognized as the leading solution for the digital age, with the ability to distribute all analog and uncompressed HD digital signals as well as manage embedded data. Embedded data refers to content protection, display capability information, and control signals that are now embedded in the digital connection. Only dealers with on-staff DMC-E are qualified to bid on projects designed using the HD Digital Transport and Distribution Systems (HD-DTDS).
AVR’s Design Engineer Ryan Teal earned the Crestron DigitalMedia™ Certified Designer (DMC-D) certification by successfully completing a full-day training and certification exam. The DMC-D course teaches the fundamentals skills needed for designing and configuring a Crestron DigitalMedia™ system. The certification is intended for industry professionals who are transitioning to the digital age and need to understand not only the challenges that the digital world presents, but also how the Crestron DigitalMedia™

On December 7th, AVR and Panasonic teamed up to bring clients from around the state to view the new Panasonic digital SLR video cameras and switchers. Attendees had hands-on access to the AG-AF100 camera & AG-HMX100 switcher and AW-HE50S camera & AW-HS50 switcher to see the cameras in action. Attendees also spent time learning more about the equipment from the Rentals team and touring the department.
“I was wowed by all the new technology and equipment. I enjoyed the hands-on experience with the new equipment. I was very happy with the mixer’s HD capability as it appears to be a good solution to the problems that have arisen
with that type of system,” commented attendee Leslie McCandless, of Sedona Samba.
AVR names Robert Wengrzyn, MBA, as their new Director of Sales. Wengrzyn brings over 20 years of sales, marketing and leadership experience to this position. Wengrzyn has both local and international experience managing and directing the sales processes for several electrical distribution companies. Rob is a musical enthusiast and an active musician, writing and recording his own music. Additionally, he is an instructor of management, critical thinking, leadership, international business and communications at Western International University. “Rob is an excellent addition to our sales team.
